MAA Safety Innovation – Guarding - Portable Truss Section

As part of an ongoing effort to improve the safety of the aggregate industry, the MAA Safety Committee continues to solicit various innovative solutions for ensuring workforce safety through their MAA Safety Innovation Program.

Click here to be directed to a recently submitted safety innovation that details a way to guard around a take up pulley by building a portable truss section.  This innovation moves the gravity weight system to the side of the conveyor where it can be completely guarded.

Safety Innovations can be items/practices invented for a specialized use or items/practices that are adapted from other industries and implemented into our own.
