MIOSHA Issues Emergency COVID-19 Rules

 

As you may be aware, the Michigan Supreme Court ruled that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer exceeded her authority under the Emergency Management Act of 1976 and that the Emergency Powers of the Governor Act of 1945 was unconstitutional, invalidating many executive orders.

On October 14, 2020, as part of the continuing effort to mitigate the effects of the court ruling, the Michigan Occupational Health and Safety Administration (MIOSHA) issued an emergency rule set on COVID-19.  In addition to many rules applying to all businesses covered by the Michigan Occupational Health and Safety Act, the rule set also implements rules for certain categories of businesses, including:
