Drive Safe and Save Lives – Dave Fons Memorial Fund Promotion
On December 11th, 2017, Dave Fons, a lifelong participant in the Aggregate and Road Building industry in Michigan, tragically lost his life in a Florida traffic accident involving his car and a gravel truck.
In the wake of this loss his family founded a nonprofit organization to advocate for truck safety and safety laws. In addition to founding scholarships and facilitating truck driver training, this organization is promoting a billboard campaign in Michigan and Florida with the intention of becoming a familiar reminder to keep safe interactions between motorists and trucks.
To that end, we ask that the aggregate industry help promote this program by posting the Dave Fons Memorial Fund logo sign as a reminder of safety to the thousands of truck drivers who enter and exit your facilities on a daily basis.
