As reported a few months ago, MAA has been working with other association groups to develop the first Michigan Infrastructure & Heavy Highway Construction Industry hiring events. These events will be for Infrastructure Employers who are looking to hire for the upcoming construction season.
Sadly, the in-person hiring events that were planned were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is unfortunate given that over 350 attendees had pre-registered for the events, along with numerous contractors.
In an effort to keep these hiring events moving forward, companies that signed up for the event expressed a willingness to take part in a virtual hiring fair.
MAA along with MITA, Michigan Construction, The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, MDOT, Michigan Concrete Association, the County Road Association, Michigan Works!, AIS of Lansing, Michigan CAT, the Asphalt Pavement Association, Going Pro, WLNS TV, and Nexstar will be providing two virtual hiring fairs on Thursday, June 4, 2020. The hiring fairs will be advertised through local television and radio, as well as through social media and other online mediums.

This meeting will describe how the Michigan Infrastructure Virtual Hiring Fairs will take place, what the participants can expect, and answer any questions you might have. The time blocked off for the meeting is 2 hours, but realistically it should not take longer than 45 minutes to an hour.
