MAA Member Spotlight - Great Lakes Aggregates

MAA Community Relations Award winner Great Lakes Aggregates is a fantastic ambassador for our industry!
Each year, Great Lakes Aggregates provides financial support and hundreds of volunteer hours to local community organizations, such as the Brian Terry Foundation, Scouts, Toys for Tots and local first responders, including their annual “First Responders and Customer Appreciation Day” events.

GLA works with local school districts to “adopt” families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons, maintains the landscaping and cleanliness of football fields for the Highland Jets youth football team and assists the City of Detroit and Highland Park with the “Joe Louis Greenway Project”. The recreational pathway project, which runs past their Highland Park property, offers opportunities to educate and promote the recycled aggregate industry in local communities.

After a difficult few years during the pandemic, Great Lakes Aggregates was able to resume its annual 5k Walk/Run event benefiting the Friends of Our Community Library, while also aiding communities by donating outdoor tents and picnic tables for outdoor activities and COVID relief efforts.

On behalf of all MAA members, we congratulate Great Lakes Aggregates on its MAA Community Relations Award for outstanding service to Michigan communities!
