They have implemented environmental training and best practice management at all their locations, and have also implemented recycling, reclamation, and mine plans. By using an Environmental Management System, they are able to track environmental compliances and completion dates, and their Wildlife Habitat Conservation (WHC) projects were recertified in 2021. Ottawa Lake Quarry received Silver Certification, Maybee and Newport Quarries received certification recognition.
In 2021, plantings were added to the area and it is maintained through mulching and weeding, and bird houses and insect houses were installed in 2021. Congratulations again to Stoneco for being awarded an MAA Environmental Award!
