MAA Members Host MDOT and Members on Facility Tours
MAA members opened their facilities this week for our annual Michigan Department of Transportation/Michigan Aggregates Association bus tour. During these annual industry education events, over 40 representatives from MDOT and MAA learned about the latest first-hand experiences in sand and gravel mining, dock operations, advancements in equipment automation and electronic ticketing.
This year, the tour included visits to three sand and gravel operations:
- Edw. C. Levy Co. - Pleasant Lake Aggregates
- Mid Michigan Materials - Vella Pit
- Stoneco - Moscow Sand & Gravel
Industry education events provide a necessary opportunity for our MDOT and MAA partners to learn about the current challenges in ensuring we can continue to provide the amount and quality of aggregate material necessary to rebuild Michigan's road and infrastructure needs.
