As we head into 2025, Great Lakes Scale company will celebrate our 45th anniversary. In 1980, Richard A. Kothe, an experienced scale technician, started a very humble establishment out of his family’s van and his residence. We have now grown into our current offices in Metro Detroit, Michigan, and most recently Fort Wayne, Indiana. Serving All of Michigan (both Upper and Lower Peninsulas), as well as Northern Indiana and North-West Ohio. From the family van, we have strengthened our roots in the weighing industry and now have a fleet of service vehicles, including specially designed diesel test units with their own weight buggies for those extra heavy tests. Great Lakes Scale Company has been an industry leading scale company that provides 24-hour quality service to our customers along with many other services.
