The MAA Emerging Leaders Program is a premier leadership development initiative designed to cultivate the next generation of industry leaders. Centered on
Four Pillars—Networking, Industry Awareness, Geographic Awareness, and Leadership Development—the program combines practical application with continuous learning to equip participants with proven tools and strategies from decades of leadership expertise.
Program Highlights
Session Schedule:
- The Quest for Best Version (Personal Growth) – April 2-3, 2025
- Leadership, Management & Followership (Leadership Skills) – June 17-18, 2025
- Team Excellence (Team Building) – August 20-21, 2025
- Day at the Capitol (Legislative Visits in Lansing) – October 8, 2025
- Organizational Dynamics (Work-Life Balance) – November 11-12, 2025
Session Structure:
- Most sessions are 1½ days, starting with a noon lunch on Day 1, followed by training, dinner, and an activity.
- Day 2 includes a member facility tour and concludes with session wrap-up.
- Sessions are held at various locations across Michigan.
Participant Details:
- Limited to 20 participants (minimum of 15).
- Cost: $2,950 per participant (includes meals, activities, and instruction; lodging is separate).
- Hotel blocks will be reserved for participants.

1. Leadership/Management/Followership:
Develop leadership skills in employee engagement, negotiation, coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution.
2. Communication Excellence:
Enhance emotional intelligence, communication styles, trust-building, and stress management.

Learn team-building strategies like the Six Working Geniuses and Four Disciplines of Execution.
4. Organizational Dynamics:
Explore performance management, change facilitation, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
5. Legislative Awareness:
Gain insights into the legislative process and its industry impact through direct interaction with lawmakers.
