MAA Seeks Exemption from Tariffs on Aggregates


In response to the recently imposed tariffs on Canadian imports, the Michigan Aggregates Association (MAA) has taken action to protect the aggregate industry. MAA has been in contact with the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) and has formally submitted a letter to President Trump, requesting an exemption for aggregates from these tariffs.

Additionally, MAA has collaborated with the Asphalt Pavement Association of Michigan and the Michigan Concrete Association to submit a joint coalition letter to Kevin Hassett, Assistant to the President and Director of the National Economic Council, reinforcing the industry's concerns.
