MAA Respirable Crystalline Silica Sampling Training

Fishbeck is pleased to offer Respirable Crystalline Silica Sampling Training exclusively for MAA members. This session is designed to help member companies prepare for the upcoming MSHA Metal/Nonmetal respirable crystalline silica (RCS) standards and provide practical guidance for implementation.
This training will support attendees in understanding key regulatory expectations, correct use of sampling equipment, and post-sampling procedures such as documentation, lab submissions, and follow-up actions.
Training Objectives
Attendees will gain knowledge in the following areas:
- What is respirable crystalline silica.
- Current MSHA standards related to silica sampling for nonmetallic mineral crushing operations, including how to select employees for sampling.
- Sampling methods and how to apply them across various site conditions.
- Equipment setup and calibration, field troubleshooting, and chain-of-custody procedures for lab submission.
- Choosing the appropriate lab analysis under the new rule.
- Interpreting sampling results and communicating findings with employees.
