MDOT Requests Industry Support for Work Zone Intrusion Study
MDOT has asked MAA to share the following important information with our members in support of improving work zone safety.
MDOT is currently collaborating with the
National Cooperative Highway Research Program, Oregon State University and the
Texas A&M Transportation Institute on a nationwide study of work zone intrusions. The goal of this research is to develop
predictive tools that can help identify when intrusions are most likely to occur. To make this possible, industry input is critical.
If you or someone in your organization has witnessed a work zone intrusion during roadway construction or maintenance, please consider participating.
Reporting Form: Work Zone Intrusion Reporting Form
Supporting Materials:
How you can help:
- Share the reporting link and materials with individuals in your organization involved in roadway construction and maintenance.
- Encourage your team, and yourself if applicable, to report any intrusions observed or experienced.
- Distribute the link to other contractors or agencies you work with to broaden participation.
The more reports collected, the stronger and more effective the study’s results will be—helping state DOTs, contractors, and roadway workers nationwide create safer work zones.
Thank you for supporting this important effort to protect the men and women who build and maintain our roads.
