2026 MAA Political Update & Pheasant Hunt – A Great Success

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 MAA Political Update and Pheasant Hunt. This annual event once again delivered timely policy insights, valuable networking, and an outstanding outdoor experience.

The day kicked off with a legislative update from MAA’s legislative consultant Dave Ladd at Kelley Cawthorne, who reviewed highlights from the recently released Revenue Estimating Conference and explained how those projections connect to the road funding package signed into law in October 2025.

New this year, we were pleased to welcome Tom Barrett, who joined us ahead of lunch to share an update from Washington, D.C. Congressman Barrett discussed the upcoming expiration of the Highway Trust Fund, options to ensure its long-term solvency, and his recently introduced legislation addressing transparency requirements related to congressional stock trading.
In addition to the policy discussions, MAA members and guests enjoyed a fantastic European-style and walk-up pheasant hunt on the beautiful grounds of Crooked Foot Upland Bird & Game Hunting Club. The setting, hospitality, and hunting made for an unforgettable day.
