Help Us Tell the Story of Michigan's Aggregate Industry: Neighbors in Nature

Photo Submissions Requested for MAA’s Neighbors in Nature Documentary

The Michigan Aggregates Association is developing a new educational documentary, Neighbors in Nature, to help communities better understand the importance of aggregate mining and what residents can expect when an operation is located in their area.

The video will provide an accurate look at modern mining operations while addressing common questions and misconceptions. Topics will include setbacks, how noise levels decrease with distance, dust-control methods, site operations, and the importance of mining aggregate materials close to the communities and projects where they are needed.

The documentary will also highlight how mined land can be reclaimed and transformed into valuable community assets, such as golf courses, residential developments, farmland, lakes, parks, and wildlife habitat.
