A Great Week at the 2026 MAA Summer Conference

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2026 MAA Summer Conference at Crystal Mountain a memorable and successful event. We greatly appreciate our speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, committee members, and attendees for their continued support and participation.

The conference provided members with valuable association and industry updates, including reports from MAA’s Safety, Environmental, Specifications, Public Relations, Operations, Technology, and Governmental Affairs committees.

Matt Johnson of On Target Living delivered an engaging presentation focused on the importance of healthy living and practical ways to improve personal well-being. We also appreciate Representative Curt VanderWall for joining us and providing an update on legislative activity in Lansing.

For the first time, the conference included an equipment display showcasing some of the latest machinery and technology used in the aggregate mining industry. This new addition gave attendees an opportunity to view equipment firsthand, connect with industry suppliers, and learn more about advancements supporting safe and efficient mining operations. Thank you to the participating exhibitors who helped make the inaugural display a success.

Throughout the conference, members and guests also enjoyed many opportunities to connect and experience Northern Michigan. Activities included golf, a distillery tour, speed cornhole, one-wheel lessons, a relaxing float on the Platte River, and much more.
