Upcoming Change to MiEnviro Crushing Plant Calendar-Year Relocation Reporting
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) recently informed MAA of upcoming changes to the MiEnviro Portal that will affect members operating portable crushing plants. EGLE is targeting September 1, 2026, for implementation.
Under the new process, calendar-year relocation information will no longer be submitted as a Schedule. Instead, users will submit the information through a Service Request Form.
Although the overall reporting process will remain similar, the information will be located in a different area of the MiEnviro Portal. The new form will also include a drop-down menu allowing users to select the appropriate permit associated with a specific site.
EGLE is making this change because some facilities now have multiple permits and numerous schedules associated with a single site. Moving the reporting process to a Service Request Form is intended to simplify submissions and make it easier to identify the correct permit.
EGLE also plans to update its relocation instructions to provide clearer guidance on selecting the specific plant location on the MiEnviro map.
As part of the planned September 1 rollout, EGLE expects to:
- Release updated MiEnviro Portal Air Permit to Install Guidance for Crushing Plant Relocation.
- Release a short instructional video explaining how to complete and submit the new form.
- Remove the existing Calendar-Year Relocation Schedule from facility sites. This portion of the update may take additional time to complete.
EGLE will send an email directly to authorized MiEnviro Portal users associated with crushing facilities. The email will include links to the updated user guide and instructional video.
MAA members should confirm that the appropriate employees are listed as authorized users for their crushing facilities in the MiEnviro Portal so they receive EGLE’s upcoming communications.
