Reclamation In Action

The Michigan Aggregates Association is launching a new effort to highlight the long-term value and opportunities that can result from reclaimed mining sites across Michigan.

The first site to be recognized is Buck’s Run Golf Club near Mt. Pleasant. The property, a former Fisher Construction Aggregate mining site, has become a Mid-Michigan landmark over the past 25 years and is recognized as one of the region’s most beautiful golf courses.

Members of the MAA Board of Directors, along with representatives from Fisher Companies, were on hand for the official unveiling of the first Reclamation in Action plaque.

This initiative is intended to showcase successful reclamation projects and demonstrate how former mining properties can be transformed into valuable community assets for generations to come.

MAA plans to continue recognizing outstanding reclaimed sites throughout Michigan. If you know of a site that should be considered for a future Reclamation in Action plaque, please contact the MAA office.
